
Kangaroo x2 — self-tuning motion controller.

Feedback control has always been highly desirable for mechanical systems. Being able to tell your device to move an exact number of units, at a specific speed, or to a certain position, and to do so reliably and repeatably regardless of load or disturbances, has obvious benefits. However, PID (Proportional, Integral, Derivative) control systems and other controllers often need to be carefully tuned to get acceptable results. Tuning them is difficult, time-consuming, and also requires advanced math and knowledge of physics.
Sintonizzazione automatica
Kangaroo x2 is the first self-tuning controller in its category. Instead of requiring you to measure, model and calculate the system, the controller itself figures everything out after a couple of switch settings and a few button presses. In the time it takes to grab a snack, you can come back to a perfectly tuned system ready to accept your commands.
Instead of forcing you to use a microcontroller for closed-loop control, Kangaroo x2 works with analog and R/C sources as well as with microcontrollers and computers.
During operation, you can command speeds, positions, or issue combined commands such as "move 37 inches at a speed of 4 inches per second." You can also get an instantaneous report of speed and position while it's running. A mixed mode makes it possible to build unstoppable mobile robots with differential drive or tank-style steering.
